Suburban Multifamily Housing: The New Real Estate Rockstar

– Suburban multifamily housing markets are seeing a major upswing, (like a fired-up NBA player in the 4th quarter!)
– Single-family house rentals and build-to-rent projects are becoming the new Justin Bieber; everyone’s going crazy over them.
– Minimalist architecture is the secret sauce. Fewer whistles, fewer bells, and more function are the catchwords.
– The ‘Fly-Over’ States aren’t just to fly over anymore. They have become major draws for multifamily investments.
– ‘Work from home’ is more like ‘Work from Paradise’ for many. Remote working trends are fueling the demand for larger living spaces.
– Luxury amenities? Nah, people are looking for cocoons of comfort. Health and wellness features are getting more thumbs up than posh add-ons.
– With the teenager-like mood swings in the economy, investors are looking for stability in multifamily sectors.

Now for my hot take! Picture this: cues dramatic music – a bustling city center that’s now more Ghost-town than Money-town. Next, a silent convoy of moving vans heads for the suburbs. Thanks to the mysteriously charismatic Covid-19, we’ve got an urban exodus underway, and suburban multifamily housing is the new Promised Land.

Forget showy towers with swanky features, or heart-attack-inducing prices for a pocket-sized living space. Today it’s all about roomier, healthier homes bathed in the sweet scent of affordability. And if you can WFH (that’s Work-From-Home, for the uninitiated), then why not make it a WHF (Work-From-Heaven)?

As we toast to the rise of the suburban multifamily dwelling, investors seem happily tipsy about migrating to this new opportunity hub. So here’s betting that soon the ‘Nuclear Suburbia’ sitcom could give ‘Sex and the City’ a run for its ratings!
