- Home-buying in a struggling economy: Apparently, many people are into extreme sports like buying a home during a pandemic-induced economic tumble. A series of guides helped navigate the thrill ride of ‘not sure if it’s a good time but my lease is up.’
- Real estate agents as confidants: Not just eye-candy with a license, agents became makeshift therapists this year, guiding clients through emotional decision making. Talk about a job description update. House tours now come with a complimentary vent session!
- Implementing tech while tech-impaired: Struggling to turn on your computer now qualifies you to set up virtual home tours. Guides on how agents with a “mild” fear of technology can navigate the wild world of virtual viewings, were clickbait gold.

Year of How-To’s – Real Estate Edition
From home buying to virtual home tours, agents donned many a new hat
A glimpse into realtors turning into therapists, techies, content curators, and financial wizards
Trust me, folks, I wouldn’t be surprised if next year’s trend is real estate agents becoming part-time chefs, considering how much time we all spent in our kitchen this year (#QuarantineBaking, anyone?). From turning impromptu therapists to part-time tech-wizards, our tireless realtors bravely ventured into uncharted territories.
The highlights of 2020 can neatly be packaged into an immersive realtor sim game: real life addition. Score points each time you soothe a stress-ridden buyer, successfully launch a Zoom house tour while battling spotty Wi-Fi, or drive engagement by posting something other than your morning latte art.
Let’s remember: subtle property details often sweeten the deal, but a dash of humor (and perhaps some wizardry) makes for a winning combo, proving that Incredible Agents wear a thousand hats!
After all, who wouldn’t prefer wi-fi strength debates over a game of Monopoly in a gridlocked real estate market? It might even turn into 2021’s top team-building exercise, cheekily named – “escape from a tech meltdown.”
All in all, kudos to the audacious agents for surviving the Jumanji version of real estate! Definitely, a year for the memory books, accompanied by a glass of well-deserved wine, or perhaps whiskey? Here’s to another year of evolving roles! Being a therapist already qualifies you as a bartender, right?
