A high-performing real estate team isn’t just a bunch of individuals doing separate jobs according to Hana Cha.
•
Properly integrated real estate team members benefits customers by offering diverse expertise and more personalized service.
•
Cha emphasizes the importance of each player knowing their role and performing it to the best of their ability.
•
Real Estate is a “people business” and thus relational skills are crucial for a team’s success, claims Cha.
•
Regular team building activities and a positive work culture are key to keeping a real estate team motivated and focused.
My refreshingly cool take:
In this era of cutthroat competition and homes changing hands faster than you can say “adjustable-rate mortgage,” one thing’s clear: a powerhouse real estate team can’t function like a clumsily assembled IKEA furniture. Our dear friend Hana Cha comes to the rescue like a real estate superhero, reminding everyone that a well-rounded team, just like a well-crafted cocktail, requires the right mix. It’s not about forcing an accountant to negotiate deals, or making a hot-shot agent do the paperwork (we’ve seen enough TV comedies to know how that scenario pans out). It’s about everyone sticking to their strengths, like a set cast of a hit Broadway show.
Also, Cha re-emphasizes the importance of not just being salespeople, but people-people. Because real estate, just like comedians at a roast, is all about timing and people. Client relationships are king (or queen, or monarch-of-your-choice).
Lastly, she puts on her party hat, advocating for regular team-building activities minus those cliched weekend retreats with trust falls and endless powerpoints presentations. Think more along the lines of fun office get-togethers where the agenda isn’t making sales quotas, but mastering the fine art of an arm wrestling tournament or a hot dog eating competition. After all, a team that laughs (and possibly gorges) together, stays and sells together. Because selling homes isn’t just about closing deals but also uncorking champagne bottles when that hard-earned commission hits the account. Cheers to that!
